SIMPLE PAST TENSE

SIMPLE PAST TENSE ialah bentuk waktu yang digunakan untuk menyatakan suatu perbuatan atau peristiwa yang terjadi dimasa lampau (bersifat sederhana) dan tidak ada hubungannya sama sekali dengan masa sekarang serta waktu terjadinya diketahhui.

Pattern:

Nominal Form:

(+) S+ TOBE(was/ were)+ A. N. A (adjective, noun, adverb)

(-) S+ TOBE(was/ were)+ NOT+ A. N. A

(?) TOBE(was/ were)+ S+ A. N. A?

Verbal Form:

(+) S+ V2+ O

(-) S+ DID+ NOT+ V1+ O

(?) DID+ S+ V1+ O?

Example:

(+) he was there last day

(-) he was not there last day

(?) was he there last day?

(+) they were busy when our teacher came

(-) they were not busy when our teacher came

Time Signal:
