PAST FUTURE TENSE

PAST FUTURE TENSE ialah bentuk waktu yang digunakan untuk menyatakan suatu perbuatan atau peristiwa dimasa lampau yang akan dilakukan.

Pattern:

Nominal Form:

(+) S+ SHOULD/ WOULD+ BE+ A. N. A (adjective, noun, adverb)
(-) S+ SHOULD/ WOULD+ NOT+ BE+ A. N. A

(?)SHOULD/ WOULD+ S+ BE+ A. N. A?

Verbal Form:

(+) S+ SHOULD/ WOULD+ V1

(-) S+ SHOULD/ WOULD+ NOT+ V1

(?) SHOULD/ WOULD+ S+ V1?

Examples:

(+) we should send a letter the day before, if you didn’t come

(-) we should not send a letter the day before, if you didn’t come

(?) should we send a letter the day before, if you didn’t come?

(+) money would be given by me if you come to my shop

(-) money wouldn’t be given by me if you come to my shop

(?) would money be given by me if you come to my shop?

Penggunaan Past Future Tense:

Ø  Digunakan untuk menyatakan suatu perbuatan yang dilaksanakan apabila syaratnya terpenuhi pada waktu lampau. Contoh: she would give something if you came to her house

Ø  Digunakan untuk menyatakan suatu perbuatan yang akan dilakukan pada waktu lampau. Contoh: we should go to semarang the next day

Time Signal:

The next day before; the next … before; etc.
